A Word about French Creek
French Creek is located about 6 miles south of Pottstown, PA. The Delayed Harvest-Fly Fishing Only Area receives more than 1400 trout annually and is stocked in mid-March, Late-April and early October. This area begins at the Covered Bridge at Hollow Road and extends 0.9-miles upstream to the wire above Sheeder Mill Road Bridge. To access this area take Route 100 south from Pottstown past Rt. 23 to Pughtown Road. Take Pughtown Road east about 3-miles and park at the gravel lot at the corner of Pughtown and Hollow Roads across from the old meat packing plant. To avoid the crowds, the best time to fish is during the week. Click here to view map.
